Installation Tips for 12" and 22-3/4" Cane Bolts:

• For bolt and surface strike install with #8 screws, predrill with 7/64" drill bit for soft wood or 1/8" drill bit for hardwood
• For mortise and rim strike install with #7 flat head screws, predrill with 3/32" drill bit for softwood or 7/64" drill bit for hardwood
• Hand tighten screws, do not use power tools with screws.
• When installing decorative hardware use hand tools in good condition

Installation Tips for 14" Cane Bolt:

• Predrill for main body, 5/32" drill bit for hardwood, 3/32" drill bit for softwood.
• Hand tighten screws only.
